He-Man and Masters of the Universe was always a show for everyone because you could always find a character that would fit your personality. It was a rich and diverse show where people overcome obstacles through friendship and their uniqueness, but Masters of the Universe Revelation is truly a horrible show, nothing else.
It tries hard to force “strong female” agenda, it blatantly changes the skin color of some main characters and it shows definitive hostility toward men. No, this is not the Masters of the Universe series, this is a horrible abomination.
Kevin literally lied to the audience. It was so simple to make a Teela spin-off. He just had to tell people that Masters of the Universe Revelation is a series about Teela. Nothing else. If you tell me that you are making me a hamburger, I will prepare myself for a hamburger but if you serve me a pizza instead…I will complain, brother! I have the right too!!!
Did they really need to sideline the main character of the original show and make it about a nasty bitter selfish woman and her feelings? The story is so cliche, so slow, so predictable, and frankly just so dull that it’s just not entertaining or enjoyable to watch.
The animation of Masters of the Universe Revelation was decent, the character model for Teela looks like a bigger more muscular Prince Adam, it was distracting. SMG didn’t sound good as Teela, Mark Hamill plays Skeletor with a joker’s voice. I like these things individually, but they do not make a good mix.
I’m sure the super feminists were completely fine with the destruction of one of the most testosterone-filled characters to exist. This abomination of a show and Kevin Smith has lost any credibility whatsoever, but it could be argued that he had none, to begin with. The best thing Kevin Smith can do is go back to keeping his mouth shut so we can all forget this absolute dumpster fire of a show was created.
The only really good thing about it is the sweet release you experience when you realize Masters of the Universe Revelation only has 5 episodes of 25 minutes each. This is a show about bitterness, selfishness, self-pity, anger, and a need for validation. Masters of the universe without he-man is not masters of the universe.
